About Us

Who we are
We are a family run business located just up the hill in the very scenic village of Pensford in the Chew Valley. We have panoramic views of the rolling countryside from our conservatory and decking area. We are family friendly and allow well behaved dogs on the decked area.

History
Did you know that the Travellers Rest was originally called the Railway Hotel? The Bristol and North Somerset Railway line used to run through Pensford, transporting coal and commuters around the region. The impressive viaduct that still stands today was used to carry the railway over the Valley. The line was opened in 1873 but was fully closed after the Great Floods of 1968.
